At the end of his Welcome To Tha Carter tour, the 40-year-old performer—real nаme Dwayne Carter—cut short the performance in Los Angeles, California, apparently after barely 30 minutes on stage.
Attendees reported on social media that Wayne had entered the stage at LA’s Wiltern Theatre more than an hour after his planned 9 p.m. start time.
Wayne brought out a number of signees from his Young Money Records label imprint, including Lil Twist, Yaj Kader, and Allan Cubas, after performing a couple songs with special guest 2 Chainz.
In a video that was taken by a fan and posted to social media, he is heard saying, “We appreciate it, but we ain’t about to be bending over backwards for these folks.” “We put in too much effort for this. We put in far too much work.
“Allan, my artist, was Twist, and Yaj was that.” Young Money is who we are. Thank you for your time.
The artists departed the stage at this point. The house lights came on a few minutes later.
“I will never go to another Lil Wayne concert after he arrived late then performed for 30 had intermission put his new artist to perform then came out and canceled the rest of the concert because the crowd wasn’t hype enough for his new artist,” one fan wrote on social media in response to other fans’ complaints.
Another person said, “Lil Wayne needs to stay humble and appreciate the people who support him. You can’t cancel a show because you were late and the audience didn’t realize your artist is insаne.”
